handmade things I'm loving right now

emma lamb

Hello my lovely blog buddies! Today I want to share with you a few handmade favourites that I've got my eye on at the moment. Lots of useful and beautiful things that I'd would happily fill up my little world with!

handmade things I'm loving right now (Ceramic serving bowl Marina Marinski Ceramics) | Emma Lamb

Ceramic serving bowl by Marina Marinski Ceramics - I love all of Marina's adorable face plates but this peachy sweet lady is top of my list at the moment closely followed by this lilac lovely. A whole collection of these would make a fabulous plate wall, especially for a nursery since the colours Marina uses are so pretty!

handmade things I'm loving right now (

"To The Stillness" and "Grace In the Winds" by Emily Jeffords - I only just discovered Emily's gorgeous cloudscapes a few days ago but I was completely smitten at first sight. I love her expressive brush marks and use of fresh and pretty colours. Instead of moody cloudscapes they're light and uplifting, very spring-like. Lovely!

handmade things I'm loving right now (The 'wool' yarn bowl by Little Wren Pottery) | Emma Lamb

The 'wool' yarn bowl by Little Wren Pottery - There are many yarn bowls out there but I have to say that this discovery from Little Wren Pottery is by far and away my favourite. Simple and understated with the cutest 'wool' lettering detail. Plus this 'vanilla cream' version is the perfect colour for showing off any pretty yarn!

handmade things I'm loving right now (Tree Peony and Botanicals No.2 by United Thread) | Emma Lamb

Tree Peony and Botanicals No.2 by United Thread - Michelle's water colour paintings are always mesmerisingly beautiful and I can't stop admiring these two right now. Tree peony on the left especially, how gorgeous is this painting!?

handmade things I'm loving right now (Zipped Pouch and Mini Pincushion by Cozy Memories) | Emma Lamb

Zipped Pouch and Mini Pincushion by Cozy Memories - My lovely friend Sonia has been adding lots of gorgeous new wares to her shop recently and these are just two of my favourites. This simple zipped pouch would be perfect for holding my crochet hooks or interchangeable knitting needles. It is from her new line around the theme of 'pure'. A collection of simple, elegant designs created with organic linens making the most of this beautiful fabric in it's natural state. And her adorable mini black cat pincushion is along the same lines but has been hand stamped with a cute design she carved herself. How sweet is this!?

handmade things I'm loving right now (Weavings by Maryanne Moodie) | Emma Lamb

Weavings by Maryanne Moodie - I know I'm not the only one who marvels over each and every weaving created by the fabulously talented Maryanne Moodie. Her eye for pattern, colour and texture is entirely enviable so when she posted this pic of her most recent pieces on Instagram and Pinterest a couple of days ago I could not tear myself away from it's loveliness. Pure eye candy for me! Oh how I would love one of these for my studio, I'm thinking the pretty pink and blue one with brown tassells in the top right corner would be my first choice. So beautiful!

emma lamb

Hello my blog buddies and happy, happy Friday! I'm making my own light, colourful and uplifting spring today since the April showers seem set to stay, keep your fingers crossed that Katie Daisy's gorgeous print will hold true for us!

spring things I'm loving right now (Photography by Jonas Gustavsson) | Emma Lamb

A gorgeous spring style interior shoot by Jonas Gustavsson, I love absolutely everything about this! the colours are just perfect - that bright daffodil yellow cabinet with the softest peony pink, gentle gray and darker mustard tones, not to mention the tiny hint of duck egg blue and natural pale wood colours. All very pretty on the comfortable modern shapes and diamond motifs. So inspiring!

spring things I'm loving right now (Cloud garland by deconohut / Teepee by Mokkasin, photography by Jonas Gustavsson) | Emma Lamb

I can definitely picture on of deconohut's sweet new cloud garland's decorating a window in that room above with it's tiny little gold stars twinkling int he light! And how amazing is Mokkasin's teepee!? Made from torn strips of upcycled furnishing fabrics wrapped around a bamboo frame. Again I'm loving the pink, mustard and duck egg blue colours here too!

spring things I'm loving right now (April Showers print by The Wheatfield / Plant Life Tank Dress by Leah Goren) | Emma Lamb

Please, oh please may this come true! 'April Showers' print by The Wheatfield. Oh how I adore Leah Goren's easy tank dress! Best suited for summer as it is but right now I would wear it with layers of cardigans and scarves, cosy leggings with thick socks and of course my trusty red wellies ;)

spring things I'm loving right now (The Instant Comfort Pocket Box by Kim's Little Monsters) | Emma Lamb

This is 'The Instant Comfort Pocket Box' from Kim's Little Monsters. Because you know what? We all need a little pick-me-up every now and then, a little something to make us smile and feel that bit better about ourselves. And you know what else? I know you all look wonderful today!

Happy weekend everyone!

etsy favourites : starting a list for you know who!

emma lamb

No not Voldemort! The other fella. You know, the beardy one in the red suit? Keeps a list of who's been naughty and nice? Yeah, him! It's still a bit soon to be mentioning his name out loud but after the irritable morning I've had (dumb computers again) I'm feeling totally justified in doing a wee spot of window shopping on Etsy and starting my you know what list...

etsy picks : starting a list for you know who! / curated by Emma Lamb
Links: 1. Bazaar Living, 2. materialised, 3. Heartland Yarn Company, 4. koshikira, 5. Stepanka Ceramics, 6. Shards by Tania, 7. Blue Raspberry Designs, 8. Tada by Jill McDonald, 9. gennamaria, 10. Kate Zaremba Company, 11. Spoonful, 12. A Crooked Sixpence

I adore Princess Sienna from Materialised, a complete diva of a cat who insists on wearing her crown to bed! Vincent Van Gogh with his hand painted tattoos is so fabulous! You should definitely check out the rest of Blue Raspberry Designs tattooed plush dolls, they are just as amazingly beautiful too. Oh, and how beautiful is koshikira's agate necklace!? That blue is so delicious! As are Tania Covo's sea glass earrings. Tania creates some of the best sea glass jewellery I've ever seen and seems to know just how to get the best out of the beautiful glass and pottery pieces she finds.

Have you seen Jill McDonald's 'I Think I Can' print before? If you haven't hop over and take a peek to see the ending. I think this is top of my list today because in the simplest and sweetest way it sums up my thought process for new ideas. Well most of them! Occasionally things do go awry and on those occasions my last thought wouldn't be quite so pleasant and most likely just a wee bit bluer!

Happy Friday!

etsy favourites : woodland wonder

emma lamb

After yesterday's book review of Stephanie Dosen's Woodland Knits I'm feeling totally inspired by the woodland theme. It's just too adorable! And while prowling the aisles of Etsy today I've been discovering all kinds of woodland wonders...

I love Ali the Owl from Collette Bream and These Woods' lace fox mask is just amazing! Not to mention those fabulous wild mushrooms from Andie's Speciality Sweets, yes indeed those are handmade edible chocolate mushrooms! Everything in that shop is so insanely realistic and totally drool-worthy, take a peek at their chocolate oyster shells too. Wow! My favourite pick of the day though has to be the tiny leaf earrings from Burnish, they are rose gold plate which gives them the prettiest pinkish tone. Perfect for the coming autumn and definitely going on my wish list!

Etsy favourite lists : 'perfectly at home' curated by Emma Lamb

Yay! Yay and double yay! Oh I am so happy that Etsy have at last introduced this fabulous new feature - Favourite Lists!

For as long as I have known Etsy it has been a requested and suggested feature in the forums. I know I have craved it for a long time too, especially so after my treasury obsession subsided. To be able to sort and organise my finds into pretty collections and to co-ordinate them into to gorgeous colour groupings - an obsession you know I will never get over!

Etsy favourite lists : 'art wall' curated by Emma Lamb

Since discovering this new feature yesterday I have created six main boards (aside from the main collection holding all on my favourites, called 'Items I Love') to cover the categories I favourite regularly - jewellery, clothes and accessories, home decor, art, craft supplies and of course yarn! At the moment 'perfectly at home' and 'art wall' are my top faves. I want all of these things for my new living room, if only it were big enough and I had a lovely new sofa to plump all those cushions on... *sigh* Although it's not all bad my fabulous new white walls are ready and begging to be adorned with colourful prints!

I've yet to curate a colour collection but I am sure that will happen soon over a large pot of tea and equally large bar of chocolate! If you've already started organising your Etsy faves too let me know in the comments so I can pop over and take a peek.
