pattern crush : Eva & Anne | Emma Lamb

I happened upon Eve & Anne's Etsy shop just a few weeks ago and instantly fell for their pretty products and beautiful styling. They cite their influences as 'American Mid Century and Scandinavian design' so I guess it's a no-brainer that I would love their work!

The retro vibe in their pattern design is obvious but it's that simple and gorgeous Scandinavian colour palette that makes them look so fresh. 'Sunshine yellow', 'pool blue', 'watermelon red' and 'racing green' combined with bright white in their set of letterpress cards is spot on! I love the cute sentiments on these cards too - 'Hooray For You!', 'Just A Little note' 'Many Many Many Thanks' and 'You're Quite Lovely'.

Not to mention the fun way they've styled them - see those great overhead shots!? Where each card is placed just so then surrounded with perfectly co-ordinated and precisely organised stationery bits 'n' bobs. Everything about this ordered styling just makes me blissfully happy, almost serene... do you know what I mean?

colour crush : Mini Moderns

Mini Moderns, Darjeeling Wallpaper in Chalkhill Blue | Emma Lamb

I've been taking a closer look at some of the lovely people who will be attending the Folksy Summer School in August and couldn't pass up the chance to show my appreciation for Mini Moderns' designs. They have such a wonderful Lucienne Day influence and mid-century colour sense...

"Our design influences range from mid-century British textiles to vintage toys, from literature to childhood memories. Travel also influences our work - and much of our inspiration comes from holidays and field trips, both at home and abroad."

At the moment I'm particularly fond of their textiles and wallpapers and am quite smitten with this Darjeeling design. Since I have my 'decorating head' on at the moment I'm trying to picture each of these colourways in my living room. I'm not planning to wallpaper the whole room, just a wee accent in the alcove where I have my computer. I'd like a backdrop of something inspiring but also soothing, something not too distracting but also motivating. It also has to fit with the rest of the room, which is still in a state of flux just now making things even trickier to visualise. So far we've chosen a new black sofa (still to arrive) and stark white walls (still to be painted), which will both make a good base for adding lots of colourful snippets. You know how I love those!

So yes, I know I'm asking a lot from a roll of wallpaper but surely it's not impossible to find the perfect one!? Already I'm eyeing up 'Welsh Slate' and imagining it with a bright and colourful pin board and a couple of pretty prints to add those colourful snippets. Which one would you choose?

colour crush : Farrow & Ball's moody colour styling

Latest and Greatest, Rajah Stripe and Lattice wallpapers from Farrow & Ball | Emma Lamb

Who doesn't love a Farrow & Ball catalogue and who hasn't got one of their gorgeous paint chip cards, that's probably a wee bit dog-eared by now because you are constantly flipping through it and imagining their gorgeous colours splashed all over your walls!? I know I do and my paint chip card is exactly that!

This week they have just launched a new set of interesting wallpapers and I have been flipping through their virtual catalogue imaging a wee bit of Lattice in the bedroom or Tessella in the hall. Despite being a girl who loves to live in warm, light spaces I always love their moody styling. It feels like a wee bit of escapism, a fantasy of living in a moody, romantic, vintage, retro fairytale or period drama even! It's a fun and inspiring place to visit every now and then to soak up the delicious colours...

I'm especially loving this last combination of grey, cornflower blue and teal with that fabulous pop of neon orange. Such a gorgeous retro combination with the geometric Tessella wallpaper.

pattern crush : Mix 'n' Match 11 Wallpaper Collection by Kirath Ghundoo

Mix 'n' Match 11 Wallpaper Collection by Kirath Ghundoo | Emma Lamb

OMG, am I loving these fabulous wallpaper prints by Kirath Ghundoo, an incredibly talented lady nicknamed as the ‘queen of pretty geometrics’ and rightly so! I discoverd her gorgeous work thanks to Heart Home magazine as she is for their nominated Design Award 2012. As soon as I clicked through to her website I was completely smitten with her collection of Mix 'n' Match 11 wallpaper designs.

The colours, the bold but delicate geometric patterns, the mismatched theme... everything about them is just gorgeous! They're so fresh and pretty but with a wonderful retro vibe too. Kinda Mid Century Modern brought bang up to date! I'm having a tough time deciding which combination I would choose but I'm totally conviced a statement feature of one or two lengths behind my sofa would look amazing! Of course I would need a new sofa to go with them, I've got my eye on this one at the moment... ;)

pattern crush : Free Spirit Fabrics

Hopscotch fabric by Erin McMorris | Emma Lamb

I snapped up this delicious wee floral print from my local department store a few days ago because I instantly fell head over heels for it's fabulous retro, granny chic vibe. The design is 'Hopscotch' in the 'butter' colourway and is from the 'Weekends' collection designed by Erin McMorris for Free Spirit.

After discovering this wee beauty I hopped on over to the Free Spirit site only to discover a huge pile of yet more delicious prints to covet. Although it is tough for me to justify buying yet more fabric when I already have piles upon piles of it laying around here, barely any of it getting used since I stopped textile designing... Hmmm, methinks I'm in need of a crafty fabric adventure... or maybe a swift clear out with a car boot sale, because I so want these fabrics... ;)
