Day 25, The August Break, 2013 - { sunday morning } // feeling very lucky | Emma Lamb

Hello, hello! Oh wow is it lovely here in Edinburgh today, it is warm and the sun is shining brightly. It almost feels like summer again and here's me getting set for the autumn after yesterday's post. Oh well, there's nothing to do except go outside and make the most of it. Yay! Before I do though, here's a last wee round-up of my August break daily pictures...

Day 27, The August Break, 2013 - { number } // three, is the magic number! | Emma Lamb
Day 28, The August Break, 2013 - { smell } // he smells so damn good after his haircut! | Emma Lamb

Omg, I love this picture of Spanner! I took it right after he came back from his haircut last week. His tilted head is because I'm keeping his attention by enquiring as to whether he might like a cracker!

Oh, and below is my newest favourite thing. At last I have a Fi bench from Bluebellgray, woo-hoo! I have wanted this for so long and finally my wish came true this weekend. I've only been using it for a few days but already it is my favourite place to sit and crochet. I love it!

Day 29, The August Break, 2013 - { your fave thing } // my newest favourite thing | Emma Lamb
Day 30, The August Break, 2013 - { sign } // + | Emma Lamb
Day 31, The August Break, 2013 - { smile } // happy face | Emma Lamb

And what a wonderful picture to end the month on - a happy, smiley Spanner face!

Oh btw, I got to see my physiotherapist this week for a full assessment. Thankfully he doesn't believe that the pain I have been having is sciatica, instead it is muscular issues in my back and hip that should be far easier to relieve with regular stretching exercises for a few weeks. Even though I have been feeling pretty good there is still an underlying problem, but it's good to know what it is and how I can fix it now. Phew!

Day 16, The August Break, 2013 - { floral } // sea holly | Emma Lamb

Happy Thursday everyone, I hope you're all having a great week so far!? Here's another wee round-up of my August break daily pictures from the last week...

Day 17, The August Break, 2013 - { touch } - { books } // do not touch | Emma Lamb
Day 18, The August Break, 2013 - { looking down } // a me project! | Emma Lamb
Day 19, The August Break, 2013 - { white } // x:x:x | Emma Lamb
Day 20, The August Break, 2013 - { taste } // a taste of things to come! | Emma Lamb
Day 21, The August Break, 2013 - { something old } // just a few | Emma Lamb

Still lots of studio based images since my Sciatica issues have only just started to subside this week. Thankfully they have improved enough for my to take Spanner for a few very gentle and very brief walks. It's such a relief to be able to leave the house again, phew! The exercise must be helping as today I feel pretty good, especially after a more restful sleep last night too. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that normality will return by the weekend, not a moment too soon!

On the upside, at least I've been able to make a wee bit of headway on this 'me project' lately. It's always good to find a silver lining to your cloud, right!?

Day 7, The August Break, 2013 // down on the allotment | Emma Lamb

A wee round up of my August break daily pictures since last week, plus a short video clip of Spanner over on Flickr if you would like to hop on over and take a peek?

Day 8, The August Break, 2013 - {a selfie } // hello! | Emma Lamb
Day 9, The August Break, 2013 - { taste } // tonight's dinner | Emma Lamb
Day 10, The August Break, 2013 - { red } // studio collection in red | Emma Lamb
Day 13, The August Break, 2013 - { home } // home is where my yarn is ;) | Emma Lamb
Day 14, The August Break, 2013 - { stillness } // thrifted colours | Emma Lamb

I am so pleased I have this wee project on the go at the moment, it's proving a great for motivation and distraction. I'm virtually house bound this week due to what turns out to be Sciatica, I can get around the house fine but walking anywhere (even the shortest distance) is too painful. Anyhow, while I wait for a call from the physiotherapist and between the sleepy bouts from the painkillers it's great to have something creative that I feel like I must focus on every day. It's helping to feed the rest of my creativity too and the ideas are coming thick and fast these last few days, it feels great! If you have ever considered trying one of these photo-a-day projects I highly recommend you do! I pondered and wondered for so long and on the spur of the moment decided to play along with The August Break, I love it so much I really wish I had started sooner!

The August Break 2013 hosted by Susannah Conway | Emma Lamb

This month I am playing along with Susannah Conway's August break photo-a-day meme. The idea is an informal challenge to take a photo a day as a way to keep the creative juices flowing and a blogging routine in place while most folks take their summer break. Since I took an unplanned break in July I'm getting back into blogging groove already but thought this would be a great way for me to be a little more creative in my day and just have some fun with my camera. So far I've been following the prompts above as a way to document some of the pretty details and moments in my days. It's only day six today but I'm finding it hugely inspiring! Here's a peek...

Day 1, The August Break, 2013 - { breakfast } // today's breakfast | Emma Lamb

Day 2, The August Break, 2013 - { circles } // seeing circles | Emma Lamb
Day 3, The August Break, 2013 - { yellow } // I love lemons! | Emma Lamb
Day 5, The August Break, 2013 - { close up } // a new notebook | Emma Lamb
Day 6, The August Break, 2013 - { diagonals } // stash building | Emma Lamb
