jewellery box : Bloesem Wear

Here in Edinburgh the schools are back, the air feels cooler and everyday my inbox is filling up with the new season autumn collection look books and magazines. I don't know about you but I'm not quite ready for it yet, I want to hold onto the warmth and magic of summer for just a wee bit longer. Instead of cosy cardigans and rich autumn colours I want to be daydreaming about long, playful summer days and delicately pretty things...

Playful summery jewellery by Irene Hoofs for Bloesem Wear - 'Bloesem Brings Gems and Pearls: A Collection of Necklaces for girls and ladies.' | Emma Lamb

I missed Irene's launch of her new Bloesem Wear collection at the beginning of the summer as I was off making the most of a few sunny Scottish days! But I didn't want to pass up the opportunity to share and talk about her gorgeous work, not just because I loved her first collection too but because it so perfectly encapsulates that playful summer feeling I am clinging onto today. This 2013 'collection of necklaces for girls and ladies' is just so beautiful and strikes a perfect balance between delicate, playful and grown-up. All of her pieces could easily be worn by girls of all ages, I know I'd happily wear a peach pom-pom with white pearls around my neck!

I think this collection has come on leaps and bounds since her first collection last year. Irene has totally hit the nail on the head with the materials she has chosen to work with which include silk, gold, pearls and gem stones in the most beautiful combination of colours - pearly whites and translucent pastels with pops of neon pink and black. The result is completely elegant and in Irene's own words 'timeless'.
